Hi girls, here is my MAC Give Me Liberty Of London Collection Eyeshadows review and swatches!
I think part of the reason I was so looking forward to this collection is because I’m going to London soon! Is that a silly reason? Probably, but I’m ok with that! I opted to get these shadows without the special packaging mainly because I’m going to depot them anyway and also, because I don’t really like the special packaging for the shadows. The flower design is a little tacky to me. I’m all over the beauty powder, blush, lipstick & polish packaging, but the shadows? Not so much. I’m going to keep the review fairly brief, I’ve been a bit unwell this last week and wanted to get the swatches and pictures up asap. The first thing I thought when I saw all the shadows together was what a great selection of colours! I know a few people are a bit over the neutrals overload we’ve had from MAC lately, but I think the combinations you can get from these shadows is fairly extensive. Again, I like the mix of finishes too.My (very!) brief thoughts- Give me liberty of London – Flat creamy pink (matte) The matte texture reminds me a bit of the matte2 texture, there’s no chalk here at all! I thought it would be similar to Whistle from the Barbie collection but it’s much richer and not as pale. Free to be – Creamy true coral (matte) This shade is available now as a regular eyeshadow from MAC, so no need to wait! Unless you want it for the packaging. This coral packs a real punch but that doesn’t mean that all looks with it will be OTT. You can use it for a bright or softer eye. Dame’s desire – Frosty mid-tone reddish purple (frost) When I wore this I asked myself why I don’t wear more purples. I don’t know the answer? I really love this although I suspect that MAC purple addicts will already own something similar. Birds & Berries – Frosted dark green blue (veluxe pearl) I don’t know why I got this because I don’t really like blues or teals! In the pan it looks quit similar to Parrot. I’ll probably use this one mainly for the lower lashline. Bough grey – Mid-tone blueish grey (satin) I feel that this is more green-grey than blue-grey. To me, that’s exciting! Repeat: I don’t really like blue shadows! Grey is probably my favourite colour of eyeshadow to wear and this one looks pretty unique to me, it’s quite cool toned with silver shimmer. Love!
