Hi Girls! Here is my L’Oreal Telescopic Explosion Review
As soon as I heard about this Telescopic Explosion mascara (thanks Bubblegarm!) I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. I’ve been curious about Givenchy’s Phenomen’eyes for many months now, but have never wanted to spend around £20 on a mascara that I just wasn’t sure about.
Thank god for the drugstore copies – okay so we may have to wait a few months for the innovative new products to filter down, but sometimes the cheaper prices are well worth the wait. This mascara was £8.80 in Superdrug. I went to three different Boots (including a HUGE one) and they didn’t have it, but the little Superdrug I went to did – so check there if you want to buy this.
As you well know, the striking thing about this product is the ball shaped applicator. It took me a little while to get the hang of this, but when I did I was very impressed. The ball allows you to fan out your lashes much better than a traditional wand. You really can get all the small lashes that sometimes get missed and it’s especially good for the lower lashes.
Here are my pathetic lashes in their natural state. They are quite short and are pretty straight.
(Please ignore the chunk of lashes that I pulled out!)
So as you can see L’Oreal Telescopic Explosion Mascara really lengthens and curls my lashes upwards. This is after two coats. Any more and it can go a bit clumpy.
The only negative thing is that the inch or so of wand closest to the ball end gets absolutely covered in mascara. If you are not careful and this part touches your lashes (whilst you are applying to the inner corner lashes) then you end up with a big fat mono-lash, not a good look! Either make sure the wand is always vertical or wipe off with a tissue before you apply. I prefer the tissue option as it is easy to slip back into the old habits of ‘horizontal application’. Is this a problem with Phenomen’eyes?
Hope this was helpful, I really do recommend L’Oreal Telescopic Explosion Mascara – but be prepared to have a few practice runs! xxx
