Hey guys! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Halloween is my favourite time of year! When I was a kid Halloween almost didn’t exist in Australia. But I’ve realised that with each year that passes there are more Halloween-esque parties and costumes. I’m sure that by the time I have kids and their old enough to walk, Trick or Treating will be part of Halloween festivities.little-red-riding-hoodThis year I dressed up as Little Red Riding Hood, but also put my own little spin on it and went for the creepy version. This year was probably the first year I had ever done a look that didn’t involve splashing myself with fake blood. (2010 – zombie, 2009 – vampire, 2008 – psycho nurse, 2007 – naughty nurse).

I painted my nails white and then painted red nailpolish on the tips to look like blood.
I used OPI nailpolish in ‘Happy Anniversary’ with a matte clear topcoat then used Sportsgirl NAIL IT! nailpolish in ‘Tomato’ for the blood with a ordinary clear top coat over the top of the red. This gives the red a more wet appearance, like real blood.

I bought white contacts online and an ordinary Little Red Riding Hood costume, bought a basket to have all my stuff in borrowed a wolf mask to put into my basket so it looked like I had slayed the wolf.

This is what my makeup looked like

this-is-halloween-500x500-1Just letting you know that those contacts were an absolute BITCH to wear. I found that when you have them in and you’re in the dark it messes up your vision. Because in the dark you’re pupils get larger and the contacts pupil is fixed you can actually see the white in your vision.
Also, I had to put them in before I applied my makeup which was tough to do! If I had put the contacts in after, I know my eyes would have watered to no end.

This is how I achieved my Creepy Red Riding Hood makeup
