Hi girls here is one more sixpired post and it’s a review of a product I’ve never done before. A (mineral) foundation by Lily Lolo in Blondie.
The packaging is very nice and functional. Doesn’t matter if there are little holes to get the product out, because you can close it in the inner part and it won’t get all around. You’ll get 10g of product which is quite a lot considering how little product you use, so it will last you a long time and the price is also great (it varies from site to site and from state to state, but the prices begin at 14eur) + if nobody inports it to your country, you can get it from FeelUnique.
The ingredients are very simple: Mica, Zink Oxide, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides, Ultramarine Blue.
What does Lily Lolo say:
Finely milled mineral foundation SPF 15 that buffs into the skin effortlessly, and allows custom coverage when applied in buildable layers. Made from natural ingredients to ensure the skin is kept clean and healthy, minimising breakouts and blemishes.
I apply it like they recommend it: First apply my moisturizer and wait for it so sink into the skin and then I sprinkle a little foundation into the lid of my jar. Then I take my brush, swirl it into the minerals and then tap off the excess. I start applying it in circular, buffing motions until I reach the coverage I want.
Talking about the coverage I found out that it depends on the brush you are using. The denser the better. I used to apply it with the big brush from Ecotools 5 pieces set but now I apply it with Everyday Minerals Flat Top Kabuki and the difference is obvious. By using flat top kabuki, the application is faster as it picks up more product because it thicker and you can achieve more coverage (faster). It really took me much more time to achieve the same coverage with Ecotools brush. Moving on cuz this is not the brush review.. On the pictures below you can see one layer applied with EDM brush. Focusing on the blemish between my brows, under my nose and circles under my eyes, you can tell the coverage is pretty good (but I would still use concealer under my eyes).
I find this foundation quite good for summer, but not that good for the winter time as it dried out my skin quite a lot (plus I usually go to school in the winter, which means I have to wake up early and I really rather sleep than wake up earlier to apply mineral foundation, so I switched back to liquid foundations which I find quicker to apply). And these are basicly the only things I find bad at mineral foundations in general.
The staying power is also ok, below you can see my face at 40°C 😀
Although it may look a bit cakey and eww if you sweat a lot. When you are not sweating it looks even better after some time than when it’s just been applied. I must say that this didn’t break me out eventhough it contains potentially comedogenic ingredients and also didn’t emphasize dry patches.
What more can I say? I will repurchase it, of course, I absolutely love it, but next time I’ll pick lighter color, because I think Blondie is still a bit too dark for me.
