You know that feeling when you discover a forgotten £5 note? Well I’ve discovered the beauty equivalent. Sorting through my dresser, I stumbled upon a much loved bottle of Kerastase Oleo-Relax Slim that I had tucked away for safe keeping and left there. Kerastase Oleo-Relax is an intense and very hard working leave-in cream specifically designed for dry, thick and rebellious hair otherwise known as a check-list for my tresses.
“Formulated with Cera-Trioleum, a unique trio of oils including apricot, camelina and pracaxi which slim down the hair fibre for strength and control, it forms a hydraphobic barrier preventing the fibre from swelling and regaining excessive volume. Kérastase Crème Oléo-Relax Slim will leave hair nourished and smoothed with 24 hour anti-volume and anti-frizz protection”.
This is the ideal solution for my thick, curly hair and helps to reduce the size of my sometimes often out of control volume (a must when the humid London summers are back upon us). Less frizzy, hair feels softer, smoother and nourished – is a much desired state for all curlies out there. I use this little bottle of joy when leaving my hair curly, or putting it through its paces and straightening it. Whilst this neither defines curls, or makes hair straighter – this dramatically helps with the condition and nourishment of hair.
The only downside to this product? Getting the right quantity for your hair. Applied to wet hair, one to two walnut sized amounts of cream is recommended. Too much however, and hair is left limp and greasy (this is anti-volumising after all), too little, and the results are non-existent. With regular use however, you come to know the right quantity for your hair-type, and results are great.
The final rating? A very respectable four stars.
