Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Concealer in light 18 review and swatches :kat-von-d-lock-it-tattoo-concealer-1

Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Concealer is a, “A heavy duty, highly pigmented, transfer- and water-resistant, multitasking concealer.” Tattoo Concealer comes in nine different shades with a variety of different undertones.  I picked Light 18 a light soft beige to help brighten under my eyes. The packaging is lovely with KVD’s trademark tattoo-inspired art.  The squeeze tube is very convenient for tossing in your bag for on the go touchups.kat-von-d-lock-it-tattoo-concealer-light-18-1

Lock-It Tattoo Concealer claims to cover tattoos so I was expecting the product to be a very thick consistency.  I was really surprised to find the consistency is light, creamy and blendable. The formula is ultra-pigmented so a little product goes a very long ways. A bead-sized amount is enough to cover any blemish I may have, and any dark areas around my eyes.  When it dries it sets beautifully without creasing or looking cakey. I’d recommend starting out with less product than you think you’ll need, and then go back to add more if necessary. It covers all of my problems areas, darkness and scars. I don’t have any ink so I can’t comment on it’s tattoo-covering abilities, however after doing a little research many reviews claim the concealer alone won’t do the job of covering a tattoo. kat-von-d-lock-it-tattoo-concealer-18-swatch-1

I’ve tried a few different application methods- my favorite way for the most flawless coverage is to apply this with a wet beauty blender (review here). With a wet beauty blender it makes the creamy consistency super easy to blend into my skin effortlessly. It takes a minute to dry and set completely, after is sets it’s decently transfer-proof and water-resistant. I’d consider this a medium coverage concealer, that can be built to a full coverage when layered. I have very dry under eyes and always moisturize with an eye cream before applying my concealer- I have not had any problems with the products appearing or feeling dry on my skin. It lasts beautifully throughout the day with minimal to no fading. kat-von-d-lock-it-tattoo-concealer-in-light-18-swatch-1

I love the creamy formula and how well it works with a variety of skin problems! The tube is a bit pricy but I imagine it will last a very long time considering the teensy amount of product you will use for a beautiful coverage. I do still find myself reaching for my HG Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer (review here) to conceal my under eyes. I mainly use Kat Von D Lock-It Concealer in light soft beige to easily hide any blemish or hyper pigmentation my skin. I love this product-the last 3 months it has been my go-to product to hide any imperfection effortlessly!
