John Frieda Go Blonder Controlled Lightening Spray review

Hello Everyone!
For my first post of the night (I have several planned!) I wanted to do a review on the John Frieda Sheer Blonde line – specifically the Go Blonder Controlled Lightening Spray.

I purchased the spray at Target for $8.99, which is a little more expensive than some drugstore haircare products, but still a very decent price.

I wanted to experiment with this product because I had just gotten blonde highlights, and I thought that this product would make them more vibrant and just give my hair a lighter glow. Overall, I do really like it, and everyone continuously asks me if I’ve been lightening my hair, but I don’t notice a huge difference, especially in pictures.

I had scattered blonde highlights, and the rest of my hair was a light/medium brown. I know that the Go Blonder spray is meant for people that already have blonde hair, and it’s basically meant to make you even blonder and to give your hair some dimension, but hey, who cares 🙂

As you can see, my hair is a bit lighter in spots, it probably would’ve helped had I left my bangs down for the picture. My hair looks a tad bit lighter, but nothing to the point where it would really phase me.

Basically I don’t know if I would be sold on repurchasing this product. You have to use it every single day, and the results don’t begin to show for several weeks I believe. It’s one more added step to my already long haircare routine, and I don’t really like adding more steps. I think that if you want lighter hair or more vibrant highlights, you might as well buy an actual coloring kit or highlighting kit or making a trip to the salon. It’s one quick and easy time to get the color you want, then it lasts for 6 weeks and you do it again.

Have you tried the Sheer Blonde products? What are your thoughts?
