Haul – Sephora and MAC – Glam Radar

by Maria · August 24, 2014

My mail lady reluctantly dropped off a couple packages today. She’s been hating me lately with all the wedding stuff and various packages that have been flooding in lately. I ordered a couple things from Sephora online, and then I turned in some empty MAC eye shadow casings for a free lipstick, so I wanted to share with you all what I got! The items I purchased from Sephora are actually ones I’ve never tried and really have been hearing great things about. Let’s get started with the lipstick from MAC! haul-sephora-and-mac-500x375-1 haul-sephora-and-maca-500x375-1 haul-sephora-and-mac-swatch-500x375-1 The lipstick I chose from my Back 2 MAC products was Kinda Sexy. Kinda Sexy is a brighter nude that has a little bit of a pinky/orange undertone with a matte finish. I have heard that a lot of people prefer this lipstick over most nudes because it gives more life to your face. I don’t know what it is, but even though I’m semi fair skin (NC 20-25), I cannot pull off a lighter nude lip. I’m anxious to try this and a bunch of other lipsticks from MAC and some other brands. I am on the hunt for the perfect wedding lipstick so if you have any suggestions, comment below! haul-sephora-and-macb-500x375-1 haul-sephora-and-macd-452x500-1 First thing I picked up is the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed. I have been wanting this blush ever since the line debuted. I picked up Tipsy, the bright orange coral, because I really wanted something adventurous for summer, but then after seeing all the rave about Exposed, I needed it. Every single time I went to Sephora it was completely sold out, so I knew that if so many other people were enjoying it that I would too. I think this might be the blush I wear for the wedding, it’s just very simply and beautiful. I love blush but I don’t like it when the blush is the obvious focal point, especially in pictures. I want to do a semi-dramatic eye since my wedding is later in the day, so the cheeks and lips should be kept pretty neutral. This reminds me a lot of NARS Madly Blush, but much more subtle and without any sheen. Exposed is completely matte, which is another thing I really wanted. The Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes are $25.00 a piece, and they have an amazing shade range. haul-sephora-and-macf-500x192-1 Second thing I picked up was half want, half need. If you have been following me for awhile you’ll know that I love the Hello Kitty for Sephora Eyeliner pencil (the black shade), but I just hate how you have to purchase the entire set for $25, when I only really use the black, and it’s just a baby size. My liner is getting smaller and smaller, so I wanted to go on the hunt for a new one. I have heard a lot of buzz about Makeup Forever’s Aqua Eyes Waterproof Eye Liner in Matte Black. For a wedding or even if you are prone to having watery eyes, you want to stick with waterproof products. I really wanted a softer black, something that wouldn’t be as harsh as say the black a liquid liner would give. This liner is unique in that it gives a softer line at first, but when it’s warmed up more it will give a very vivid black. I plan on using this to line my upper inner rims. These Waterproof Eye Liners will run you $18.00 a piece. haul-sephora-and-macg-500x375-1 Next on my must get list are these little babies… The Beauty Blender. Beauty blenders are the one product I still continue to hear about even though they have been out for months. I have purchased the Beauty Blender “dupe” from Mehron Cosmetics as well as Ulta, and let me tell you, it’s worth it to invest in these from the real deal. Although they will run you anywhere from $20-40 depending on which set you pick, they are well worth it. I chose to get the set with two Beauty Blenders for $25.95. If you purchase one it’s $20 so you are really saving a good deal of money. They also sell sets where you can purchase one or two Beauty Blenders with the Beauty Blender cleaner, but I heard the cleaner wasn’t all that great, so I didn’t invest the extra $10 in it. I’m hoping this will drastically change the way I apply my foundation and the overall effect of it! With my Sephora order I got several perfume samples, but I also got some other great samples, so I’ll share those with you now… haul-sephora-and-maci-500x375-1 The first sample was actually a 100 point perk from Sephora, and it is the Anastasia Clear Brow Gel. I have had about five of these, and I love that they keep getting offered as free gifts because I don’t want to pay for it! This is my All-Time-Favorite brow gel. There is nothing like it, and if I run out again and there’s no free gifts, I will suck it up just to have this product. This keeps your brows in beautiful shape and really blends the product well if you pencil or color in your brows. The next product was a free gift with purchase. I am not sure if it is still going on but if you enter BEMATTE3, you can get a little gift set of these Bare Minerals products. In the little set you get a VERY TINY Bare Minerals Kabuki (which I hate), a itsy sample of bareMinerals Matte and bareMinerals Prime Time foundation primer. I have tried all of these products, and I love my bareMinerals Matte, which I use nearly every day. I love the primer as well, but the kabuki is just not for me. It’s so harsh on my skin and not soft at all. I much prefer my Sigma brushes, or my kabuki that I purchased from IMATS last year.
