Braids are perfect for completing a cute and girly look. There are lots of variations of braids and I’m pretty sure every girl knows how to do at least one kind of braid. Even if all that you know is the basic three-strand braid, there are plenty of ways that you can make it look interesting and unique. Embellishing your braid or giving it a one-of-a-kind look. Here are some tips and ideas on how to dress up your braids.

  • WITH FLOWERS – stick some flowers in between your braids, fresh or fake, to give it a nice and girly romantic twist. You can also do this with flower beads attached to bobby pins to keep your braids in place and add that nice and dainty vibe. Flowers with braids make the perfect spring hairstyle so start experimenting now to find a braid style that you can rock all spring long.

  • TEXTURIZE – having sleek, straight hair is ideal if you’re going for a chic and edgy look but if you’re doing braids and you want a softer and more girly look, you can dress up your braids by curling your hair or giving them at least a bit of texture by having natural-looking waves.

  • THROW IN A RIBBON – easily give your braids a quirkier and more whimsical look by adding in a ribbon. You can incorporate a single strand of ribbon to your braid for an interesting twist or do multiple strands and colors inserted into different sections for a crazier and more fun look that’s perfect for either spring or summer.

  • CLASS IT UP WITH PEARLS – if you think pearls only make great jewelry, you’re wrong. Pearls can make any braided hairstyle look pretty classy and sophisticated, too. You can intertwine them with your braids if you have a long strand or if you have loose pearls, genuine or not, you can attach them to bobby pins and stick them on to your braids.

  • TWIST AND LOOP – don’t want anything other than hair on your braid but still want to give it a nice and unique look, you can experiment with twisting your braids and/or looping them to get a one-of-a-kind look. Try not to overdo it, though, as you might end up having knots in your hair later that could be a challenge to remove. Do soft twists and loops for best results. I find that pinning them up in circles look great, too.
