Haul: NYX, Milani, and Some Other Stuff!
Blogger definitely has chosen the right time to launch their new template designer: right after I changed my blog template. How cool is that? I spent hours working with confusing HTML codes and by the time I finally finished tweaking everything out, this huuuge notification banner popped up on my dashboard. Apparently, this new feature enables us to modify our template in so many ways without having to deal with HTML codes. Oh dear, imagine my feelings. XD
I know in my last post I mentioned something about being wiser and trying to use up things I have already accumulated in my stash. Well, that’s still on, people, don’t get me wrong. But I haven’t hauled anything from NYX for like.. half a year? So I kind of miss them as they were one of the first brands that got me into makeup craze. Andddd… while replicating the Kim Kardashian look a few posts ago, I noticed that I don’t have any baby pink gloss in my stash, which is unacceptable for someone who loves wearing bold eye makeup and pale nude lips. I know, I know, what a lame justification. But here’s another crazy news: I used up two of my glosses! Who the hell uses up lip products? I don’t know, but that’s what happened. The two glosses are MAC lipglass in Prrr and LA Colors moisturizing lipgloss in Butterscotch.
According to my blog archive, I bought my MAC lipglass on January 2009 so it took me about 17 months to finish it. I think it’s quite an achievement, no? I might repurchase Prrr someday, but for the mean time, I will try to use up other glosses I have. Okay, that might sound utopian but still worth trying!
Onto my haul, I received 3 packages this week. It’s not like I bought them altogether though. Some of these I ordered way back on early May.
Here’s the stuff I got in my first 2 packages:
The first package is from Creamymilk.com, a cosmetics shopping spree website owned by Sheylla (whom I’ve known since I was still a makeup newbie). She’s nice and I really recommend her shop, but this time she forgot to include one item in my package. Aww, yeah, that kinda blows. I think her business is getting busier, which is good, but I wish she’d hire an assistant.
She’s sending the forgotten item free of charge though, so it’s cool. 🙂
From her shop, I got myself a tube of Zapzyt Acne Treatment Gel, ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer, and ELF Dramatic Eyelash Kit. I’ve been meaning to try out the mineral eyeshadow primer for a while. Let’s see if this lives up to the hype. 😉
Next, I got the Milani eyeshadow singles for like 3 bucks each from an Indonesian Multiply shop called Pinkymiki? LOL. I bought 5 eyeshadow singles and they’re fabulous! My eyeshadows have CVS price labels on them, so I was like “ahhh so this is why Pinkymiki could sell them for cheap, maybe she got someone from the US to buy these products from a CVS sale or something!”
Damn, I so wish we had CVS here.
The third package is also from an Indonesian online shop called Chic Princessa (by the way, this particular post is NOT paid to mention these shops, okay? I mention them because I get a lot of questions from Indonesian readers on where I buy my makeup). This was about the third time I ordered from her. The owner is very friendly but she also made an error processing my order. Instead of a duo fibre brush from Etude House like I ordered, she sent me the Etude House powder brush. She hasn’t replied my email but I think I just have to wait for now. Hopefully this will be fixed ASAP.
I picked up NYX cream blush in Boho Chic, NYX Fabulous Lashes in Rebel, and NYX Mega Shine Lipglosses in Crystal Soda, Sugar Pie, and Tanned.
And here’s the Etude House powder brush which I didn’t order:
She also included two samples of Skin Food Agave Cactus Sun BB Cream SPF36 PA+++ as freebies:
I guess this is the new BB cream line from Skin Food. Here’s what it says on the back of the sachet:
Containing nectar from Agave extract also known as Nature’s Reservoir, this blemish balm plus sunscreen immediately cools down the skin as it glides on smoothly.
The rest of the writings is in Korean so I have no clue about the ingredients. What do you guys think? Does this BB cream sound promising to you? I must say I’m a bit turned off by the fact that it contains, umm, cactus? Like, seriously?
Okay, I appropriately googled Agave Cactus and it actually looks like this:
Joke aside, I really am not sure about trying out BB creams again. They tend to break me out (does anyone have the same problem?) and most of the time they don’t match my skintone. Full size bb creams are also pretty pricey, so… :/
Oh look, a cream blush!
Boho Chic looks like a medium pink here, but it’s actually lighter and sheerer when swatched. My first cream blush from NYX is Tea Rose and when compared to Boho Chic, Tea Rose is much more muted and warm.
Also, Tea Rose is matte while Boho Chic is shimmery. I know you can’t see the shimmers on the picture but I swear they’re there.
And yep, that’s a wrap, people! Not much of a haul but still, I’m excited! Whenever I acquire new makeup I always feel the need to wear them (or at least one of them) right away. Are you like that too?
Just to let you guys know, I probably am going to be an internet deadbeat for like a week or so. It’s the combination of exams, football (OMG World Cup has been awesome so far!), and my sister’s visiting. Sooooo, I’m sorry if later my updates and comments will slow down in volume. I hope I’ll still be able to read your updates once in a while though. Take care, loves!
