I have had a lot of questions recently asking me about Glossybox-what is it, is it worth the money and are the products any good? I thought I would do a little FAQ on Glossybox and give you my honest opinion as I received my June box .
What is GLOSSYBOX?
Glossybox is a company which ships you a box once a month containing lovely beauty goodness. Sometimes these are sample sizes and sometimes these are full sizes. I would say on average that you usually get at least 1 full size item per box. I have been subscribed for a year now and I look forward every month to my post man bringing me my little pink box! The box costs £10 a month (+£2.95 shipping) and you can earn “Glossydots” for reviewing the products after you have received them. Once you have 1000 Glossydots, you earn a free box. Often, they have themed boxes for Christmas, Valentine’s Day and recently, a Harrods box which was white with higher end products. I was really impressed by the Harrods box. A card comes inside each box explaining the product and usually offering a discount if you decide to buy a full size version. You can unsubscribe anytime as you are not bought into a contract, therefore you can simply buy one box to see if you like the concept.

Is it worth the money?
A common complaint of the Glossybox is that products aren’t well suited to the person. When you sign up to Glossybox, a beauty questionnaire is completed. They use this to gage what products to send you. You are not going to like everything they send, but as they are a large company, it would be very hard to tailor make every box. I think for the £12.95 a month, you do get your money’s worth. Relatively, when you compare the amount of money you would spend on something else, £12.95 is a small amount. This month for instance, I received HD Brow tweezers which sell for £19.95 on the website and a Glossybox brush which is going to retail for £15 when the range gets up and going. My only complaint would be fragrance samples. I don’t think they are a valid “product” as I could walk into Boots or Debenhams and get a sample myself. Otherwise, the products are mostly good. Sometimes you get the odd thing (like a Collection 2000 eyeliner last month, it was surprisingly good but I didn’t think a Glossybox type brand) that doesn’t seem to fit with the rest of the products in the box.

Overall….for girls who love beauty, for girls who are young and are just trying beauty products out or for those who are trying to reduce the amount they spend on products from pharmacies that they won’t like or use-Glossybox is for you. Don’t expect every month to LOVE every product. It’s much like buying something from a shop without trying it-not everything will be your cup of tea but it’s always worth giving it a go. You’ll find things that will change your life (honestly, the HD brow kit was the best Glossybox gift EVER, closely followed by Mythic Oil) and some other things you’ll end up giving to your best chum/mum….but really, it’s all just a bit of fun. It will make people be more adventurous and open up to a world of products they thought were not for them. It’s a bit like a beauty pass the parcel! It is a little treat and I love getting it.
