Gareth Pugh for MAC: Square Handled Buffer Brush

The latest MAC collection features a collaboration with fashion designer Gareth Pugh. The young British designer’s signature style is very androgynous and monochromatic and this is reflected in the packaging of the makeup.

Having already made a dent in my purse at MAC last week I wasn’t overly swayed by the makeup in the collection especially for the inflated price that comes with the designer stamp.

The only thing that caught my eye was the Square Handled Buffer brush:

The brush is made of goat hair and is really soft to the touch!

I really love the glossy black square handle, though I should add that the gloss effect is susceptible to finger print marks. The handle makes the brush more tapered than its 182 counterpart.

NB: this little beauty cost me £41.50! I nearly had a change of heart about purchasing it but of course I did (partly because I only found out about the price after the salesperson had scanned and packed it). If you don’t already know, I’m a bit of a brush junkie so I guess the purchase was inevitable.Would I recommend this brush?
Only to my fellow brush junkies, otherwise if you’re after a kabuki brush the MAC 182, which costs £32.50, works just as well.
What did you all think of the collection? Did you pick anything up?
Hope you’re all having a lovely weekend 🙂
