FOTD/Haul: Tarte Jewelry Box and Bumpits

Today, I was playing around with some of my newly purchased stuff, then I decided to do an FOTD with them.. So here is the Final look. This is totally out of my normal, daily look, but overall I love how it turned out.

1 Tarte Jewelry Box and Bumpits haul

I finally got my hands on Tarte Jewelry Box that was released last year for the holiday collection. I was dying to get that for ages, so I played with it right away! I am so happy that I spotted and snagged it at Get Sophisticated Online Shop for 1000 Pesos only, reduced price because of its shattered palette of bronzer and highlighter, the lippies are also damaged, I don’t care though ‘coz the only thing that I really like from this kit is the gold mirrored packaging and the 32 beautiful new eyeshadows that are highly pigmented and of very good quality as well as the 5 eyeliner-pencils. Got quite a big bang for my buck. Now, I just wish I can get the Tarte Holiday collection for 2011.
Ms. Shirlina the owner of Get Sophisticated Shop was so generous to add some freebies.. Hurray.. I got a newcrease brush and a pencil brush both with good quality bristles, they aren’t scratchy and they deliver really well. It’s a generic brush, no brand mentioned, but it doesn’t matter as it really works well with my small eyes.. Great addition to my crease brushes. And not only that she also sent me a Densy Nail Traeatment.. Isn’t she the sweetest! Love the freebies.. I am a happy cutomer!

2 FOTD haul Tarte Jewelry Box and Bumpits

Moreover, I got another interesting package that I received yesterday, I might be tooo late for this, It’s been out in the market for quite long now, and I think I’m the only person that doesn’t know and have it. I was not planning to buy anything but to get another set of my favorite Brush Guard from Suesh. but I can’t just resist when I  saw this bumpits for only 350, so i thought I’d give it a try plus I knew that Suesh is having a Holiday Promo, for spending 500pesos, you’ll get the suesh brush roller  for free, haha i was also intrigued by the brush roller. So voila!

2 Big Happie Hair Bumpits set

The Big Happie Hair Bumpits set comes with five pieces bumpit. Includes the largest~ gives a LOT of height, and definitely isn’t the one that I would use often. Two medium sized bumpits which gives the right height and volume. You can even use two of them together to create other unique looks. Two small sized- for adding small bumps in your bangs. The set also includes a helpful instruction page to show you how to go about achieving different looks.
I just like the idea that it is so easy to use and takes only 2-5minutes to lift your crown without too much effort and torture of teasing. It’s quite tricky to apply, so better to read and follow the instructions. I have a long thick hair so these bumpits holds great with me with or without the hair-spray. Bumpits is pretty subjective, different hair types might handle these differently especially with thin and curly hair. Also, removing the bumpit from the hair might be difficult if you’re not careful, do it with full caution as hair may tangle in it.
3 bumpits instructions

  • For super straight, silky hair, tease the little area of the part line where you will place the bumpit, then use hair spray for extra hold, though for some, it may hold the hair enough even without hair spray as it is self gripping. You can also set your hair using bobby pins for making a perfect pouf.
  • Sometimes, if you keep your hair open, or wear it down, the bumpit can be seen from the sides, so you may use bobby pins, or clip back the sides. You may also use the two medium sized bumpits to create a much rounded nicely shaped pouf.
  • Apply hair spray after you set everything, just to give an extra hold for whole day or night of partying.
  • If you have bangs like me, I suggest that you separate it with bobby pin or clamp before putting a bumpit on your head. You can also sweep the bangs to the side for a perfect look.

4 different hair styles with the bumpits

I’m sure you can create different hair styles with the bumpits, you can wear it down, tie-up, half or full clipped back. Indeed, a tricky trendy styling tool that can achieve any sophisticated look with little cost and effort.
