Here is my review of FINALLY, A MIRACLE EYE CREAM! SHISEIDO AND PERRICONE MD !
I’ve been so excited to do a post about this. Do you know that feeling when you find something out and you just can’t wait to share your news with anyone who will listen? You feel like shouting from the top of your lungs? Yup, that’s just HOW excited I am about these products!
I’ve been a bit more obsessed with anti aging skin care products as I’m pushing 29 soon. Although I’ve always been intrigued with skincare, I’ve been more about prevention and now I’ve begun to change things up a bit and attack anti-aging products with full force.
I’ve dabbled in Shideido’s skin care line (more posts coming soon) and initially I wanted to use the products for about 4-6 months before reviewing them. However, I just couldn’t keep this to myself any longer!
When choosing an anti-aging formula, I was intrigued by Shiseido Benefiance Concentrated Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream because of the texture. It feels like pure silk yet it’s a thicker cream which is appealing for me as my skin tends to be on the drier side. Although it’s thick and creamy, it sinks into the skin nicely and allows for a perfect concealer application.
HOW DELICIOUS DOES THIS LOOK!?!
Here is what Shisedo Claims:
Shiseido Benefiance Concentrated Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream
What it is:An ultra-rich age-defying treatment. What it is formulated to do:Protect skin from dehydration, and dramatically minimize the appearance of wrinkles and lines to promote a youthfully smooth, radiant look. Developed with Shiseido-exclusive Anti-Photowrinkle System, this formula features Chlorella (plant extract), which counteracts the development of future wrinkles.
I’m not sure if it truly minimizes the appearance of wrinkles and lines because I’m lucky enough to not have to deal with that issue quite yet. However, I was sold on the pure fact that it felt amazing and kept my skin hydrated, if it does something to treat and prevent wrinkles as well, I won’t complain!
FYI: AFTER 2 MONTHS OF USE, I BARELY MADE A DENT IN IT!
NOTE: WHILE LOOKING FOR AN ANTI AGING EYE CREAM, I NEVER EXPECTED IT TO TREAT DARK CIRCLES AS WELL. In fact, nowhere in the description does it claim to lighten dark circles.
NOW, HERE’S WHERE IT GETS GOOD!!
I received a deluxe sample of Perricone MD Hypoallergenic Firming Eye Cream. Although I had just started using Shiseido a week earlier, I figured what the heck, I’d use this one at night. I preferred Shiseido’s texture over Perricone MD, therefore using it in the morning allowed me to use it in conjunction with my concealer. However, Perricone MD Firming Eye Cream is intended to be used both A.M. and P.M. I don’t mind the texture; it’s smooth and also sinks into my skin well. The only down side I find to Perricone MD products are the smell. Personally, I don’t prefer it.
I didn’t get any information about the product when I received it and for some reason I didn’t look into it. Doesn’t it say it all in the name? FIRMING? I didn’t have any expectations for this cream at all. BOY WAS I WRONG!!
I gave up on “miracle eye creams” a long, long time ago! None of them lived up to their claims of fading my dark circles. None of them made my eyes look “brighter.” My faith has been regained.
What Perricone MD claims:
Hypoallergenic Firming Eye Cream
What it is:
A gentle eye cream for the treatment of fine lines, loss of firmness, crow’s feet, dryness, and dark circles.
What it is formulated to do:
This multitasking eye treatment provides supreme hydration to the skin, transforming the eye area into an ideal canvas for make-up application.
Gentle enough for sensitive skin, even after cosmetic procedures, this product is formulated with hydroxytyrosol, an extract from the olive fruit, and oleuropein, from the olive leaf. Both are patented and selected by Dr. Perricone for their therapeutic, regenerative, and protective benefits.
AFTER 6 WEEKS OF USE: I no longer have to wear concealer. I wish I had taken before and after pictures but I had no idea an eye cream would for once live up to its claims of fading darkness. I’m amazed, shocked, and thrilled with this product.
Now here’s the dilemma: Which product actually faded my dark circles?
I assume it was Perricone MD because it claims to do so. However, I still love my Shiseido and I plan on continuing to use it. Honestly, I’m scared to stop using one or the other because they both work so well together. I do plan to purchase the full size of PMD and explore more of his products, as long as they don’t smell like wet dog (some actually do…).
Both products have lasted longer than expected. I’m still working on my deluxe sample of the PMD and it’s almost been two months! As with Shiseido, I’ve hardly made a dent in the product!
If you’ve lost all hope in fading under eye circles and throwing out your concealer, I definitely suggest you give Perricone MD a try. If you’re near a Sephora, ask for samples, I always find that they are quite generous about customers trying out a product first rather than having to return it.
