Estee Lauder Pure Colour Gloss review – Twilight Petal – Glam Radar

by GlamRadar · February 28, 2014

For those who’ve been following my blog for a while; you would know that I’ve had a growing love affair with Lauder lip products. I love the luxurious packaging and perfect formulas that the brand provides as well as the great selection of shades.

Estee Lauder’s Pure Colour gloss range are extra glamorous and come in an array of pretty shades, from pale neutral shades to bold plums and reds. Twilight Petal was included in the bag of goodies from the MBBE event that I attended a while ago.estee-lauder-pure-colour-gloss-3

The packaging itself is ultra-luxe with it’s signature inscribed gold cap. The shade is a lovely light pink in the tube with a slightly lilac undertone. Swatched, however, it’s much lighter. Twilight Petal is a very sheer, icy pink shade with fine reflective shimmer.

From these pictures it looks pretty, although not wildly unique. Twilight Petal simply enhances the natural lip shade with cool-toned shine and adds fine, light-catching shimmers. It looks lovely over a pink or mauve lipstick to add a wet, glossy shine.estee-lauder-pure-colour-gloss-twilight-petal

However for $42AUD is is just a clearish gloss, albeit a very pretty one. The formula is lovely, very smooth and comfortable wear and, most importantly, it feels like a quality product. In all honesty I would purchase another gloss from this range, however I would not purchase this particular shade. When outlaying that sort of price I guess I expect a little more, I would go for something more pigment intense such as Fuchsia Fever or Red Tango. You can check out the range online or in-store at Myer, David Jones and selected pharmacies.
