When you wish to make your style edgier, better skip those floppy hats and girly hats in feminine colors and switch to boxy and masculine styles of hats like a brimmed straw hat, fedora hat, trilby hat, or even a bowler hat. “Bags are my greatest weakness when it comes to accessories, followed closely by shoes. Clothing wise, I do take inspiration from the designers’ collections, but I tend to invest in simpler, key pieces that I amp up with accessories,” Erica said in her interview. So, add some edge to your outfit more with structured bags, edgy jewelry, trendy footwear, and even a pair of sunglasses. Though leather boots are edgy enough, you may also resort to platform loafers, lug sole sandals, as well as chunky Birkenstocks to make your style look effortless and cool.

Leather is the edgiest fabric you may opt for to make an edgy statement instantly. So like Erica, think of leather joggers, leather trousers, leather jackets, leather shorts, leather dresses, and such that go a long way. “I go crazy for anything that looks like it’ll drape over my shoulders easily. I must say I am currently building up a solid collection of motorcycle jackets. The perfect jacket can really change up your look, even if you have the most basic outfit on,” Erica said.

If you’re not a fan of leather jackets, boxy coats, structured jackets, and tuxedo blazers are great options for you. Just decide how edgy your looks you wish to be and incorporate pieces that will fit your style. “When you get dressed in the morning, it’s a form of self-expression and it involves deciding who you are going to be that day. It’s communication that needs no dialogue,” Erica said. So, whether you’re going for a minimalist or borrowed-from-boys look, remember that your fashion style and preferences say a lot about your personality.

Feminine and flashy colors don’t look edgy, so if you wish for an edgy look, stick to neutral shades of black, gray, white, brown and such. According to Erica, these shades are so very versatile, and the perfect foundation anyone can’t go wrong with. She would like to have a closet full of LBDs in all sorts of different styles that you may also consider. Just top your looks with your favorite hat in a boxy shape and neutral shade.

Looking edgy on your street looks doesn’t mean skipping the most creative prints and patterns on your outfit. Just stick to edgy prints like geometric, abstract, architectural and such to keep you in the theme you’re aiming for. Stripes are classic but versatile enough to look edgy depending on how you’re going to style them. Also, soft and feminine silhouettes can look edgy if you’re going to incorporate structured bags, edgy shoes, and boxy hats with them. Indeed, hats are a must-have for every woman’s wardrobe.
