Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash Redness Soothing facial cleanser Review – Glam Radar

by Nikki · March 8, 2015

My face care routine revolves around the idea of treating my acne at night and moisturizing and priming for the day. I love using my Cetaphil cleanser when my skin is good shape because there is literally no risk of over-drying and it is so gentle. I also love to use St. Ive’s Blemish Control Scrub every now and then in order to exfoliate and slough off dead skin if I am feeling a little dull. On those days where I want a treatment face wash but want to stay away from the scrub because it could do more harm then good on inflamed skin, I reach for Neutrogena’s Oil-Free Acne Wash Redness Soothing Facial Cleanser.
neutrogena-oil-free-acne-wash-redness-soothing-facial-cleanser-review-375x500-1 I have gone through two bottles now and have to say it works really well with my oily skin type. While I don’t have particularly sensitive skin, I do notice that if I over-treat my face or am suffering from a breakout I tend to get really red. Other acne treating cleansers I have used in the past usually exacerbate this redness and it becomes a vicious cycle. One thing I have learned is moderation is a good thing in skin care.

Throwing this face wash in the mix has helped with both my mild breakouts and occasional redness with its “naturally soothing aloe and chamomile” formula and 2% salicylic acid content. It seems to calm irritation pretty well and has a pleasant smell.
