e.l.f. Shimmering Facial Whips – Review with Pics and Swatches

e.l.f. Shimmering Facial Whips – Review with Pics and Swatches: Toasted, Lilac Petal, Camilia,  Citrus  :

For a buck, these are great for what they are and there are definitely some stars in the four I got!  It has a light citrusy scent that I really like.  They describe it as a “sugar orange scent” and I’d say that’s pretty accurate.  My nose definitely leans more towards noticing the citrus notes more than the sugar, however it’s a nice light scent that isn’t offensive.e.l.f.-Shimmering-Facial-Whips-Review-Swatches

These are a bit inconsistent (in just the four that I have) with texture, blendability and the product separating in the tube. 🙁  I suggest giving these a good shake before using.  Some of these are thick and a tip I recommend is using a mixing medium of your choice to thin it out or mix some with a little bit of your foundation then apply to cheeks as the last step of your face routine.  I find that they are much easier to work with when doing this.  Also, these dry down fast, so work quickly!e.l.f.-Shimmering-Facial-Whips-Swatches

Let’s break these down one by one, shall we?

Citrus – is a pink champagne color with brown undertones.  This would be great for medium/tan skin tones. This is one of faves of the colors I have. 🙂e.l.f-Shimmering-Facial-Whip-Citrus

Camilia – this is the weirdest of the bunch in that, even after shaking the tube, it still comes out runny initially (you can see it in the swatch pictures and in the video).  It’s the thinnest of the bunch but when blended, looks splotchy and streaky. It is a nice lavender color with a strong silver sheen that would suit cool fair – light/medium skin tones. It’s the stickiest of the lot.e.l.f-Shimmering-Facial-Whip-Camiliae.l.f-Shimmering-Facial-Whip-Camilia-swatch

Lilac Petal – this is one of my favorites, too! It’s so lovely and it blends really nicely. The color is a soft pink with warm beige undertones.e.l.f-Shimmering-Facial-Whip-Lilac-Petale.l.f-Shimmering-Facial-Whip-Lilac-Petal-swatch

Toasted –  Voted 2008 Allure Best of Beauty Editors’ Choice Winner.  Perhaps they need something more recent to market with this color than a 2008 award. That was a long time ago! This is great for olive – deep skintones. The color is gorgeous and has a warm toasty sheen to it. The name is perfect!e.l.f-Shimmering-Facial-Whip-Toastede.l.f-Shimmering-Facial-Whip-Toasted-swatch
