E.L.F Little Black Beauty Book – Warm Python Edition Review and Swatches
A few weeks ago I tweeted that I was sort of in a rut with makeup – and getting much more into fashion.
I think that every beauty blogger/ beauty lover gets to the point where they just use the products that they have and don’t have an intense interest in purchasing new products.
I’m not sure what clicked – but lately I have been really into purchasing makeup again and finding new products to test out and play with. In my last haul, I picked up the amazing LORAC PRO Palette from Ulta, and I fell in love. Today, I stopped into Target to pick up another product I have been hearing a lot of buzz about…
The E.L.F Little Black Beauty Book – Warm Python Edition
I had heard quite a bit of buzz about this product through the beauty community about these new “Beauty Book” palettes from E.L.F and I thought I would try it out.
The palettes come in either Warm or Cool, but for now I decided to go with the palette I thought I would use more – so I went for Warm. However, now that I’ve had a chance to play with it, I have loved it so much that I want the other!
The packaging is just absolutely adorable – it’s like a padded snake skin book!
Of course it’s only $6.00 so the stitching isn’t fantastic quality – but all the same – looks great!
The best way to describe this book is that it’s almost the size of an iPhone, just slightly bigger.
It’s a great palette for travel, and easy to store. Nothing frustrates me more than palettes like Urban Decay Loves NYC where 95% of the palette is bulky packaging.
Above is an overview of the lovely palette!
In this little book you get a mix of 48 matte and shimmery shades.
The left hand side seems to consist of all neutral shades – where as the left has some pops of color.

I have always been a little weary about E.L.F Palettes.
I have had pretty decent luck with their $3.00 Studio Single Eye Shadows – but as far as purchasing their palettes, I had no experience.
I was worried that it only cost $6.00-$10.00 for 48-100 shadows.
Sometimes, even though it’s cheap, it can be a waste of money due to chalky, unpigmented shades.
However, this palette definitely surpassed all of my expectations!
The colors are even, smooth, pigmented and have an all around stunning quality.
Above, I swatched a couple shades from the palette – you can see that vibrant teal second to the left outshines many other drugstore brands that you will find!
Overall, I think this palette is a great buy. I will definitely be purchasing the Cool Edition very soon!
This is just a great, simple palette to take anywhere. The amount of shades allow you to create virtually any look without bringing along your entire makeup collection.
