Drugstore Haul & Initial Impressions

A pleasant day to all!!

Today I made a little stop at the drugstore to look for some of the new products that I have been seeing. One of my resolutions for this year was to dramatically reduce my spending, however, all these products are INCREDIBLY affordable. I restricted myself to not spending more than $20, where as before I could easily drop hundreds on clothes and makeup. Doing well!

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 hour Cream Shadows

I have been hearing a lot about the Color Tattoo Cream Shadows, so I thought I would check them out! I had heard that they were exactly like MAC Paint Pots, which are my number one favorite eye primer! My drugstore had every color in stock, but I only chose the two that I felt most drawn to. I am a little disappointed with the color variety. I know a lot of people were pleased to see that these came in a variety of really bright and fun colors, but I like to keep my makeup wearable.

I have been loving taupe shadows, and using a variety of taupe shades on my eyes, thus my main reason for purchasing Tough as Taupe. As for Bold Gold, I absolutely love a bright, stunning gold look. In regard to how these compare to MAC Paint Pots, I would say that the packaging, consistency and payoff is nearly identical to Paint Pots. 4 Revlon Lip Butter in Peach Parfait

I picked up my third Revlon Lip Butter, this time in a more pink-peach tone. I unfortunately misplaced my Candy Apple Lip Butter, but Creme Brulee remains one of my go-to lip products since I purchased it. I absolutely love these, everything from the shade range to the quality and color payoff. I wish they were as affordable as the next product I will be showing you. At a little over $7 a piece, they are something that us careful shoppers only pick up one or two at a time of.

7 Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm

I had seen a couple reviews of the Baby Lips lip balms, but it seems they have exploded in popularity. I was able to pick up three shades that I liked. The other shades were pretty, but not something I really was drawn to. The packaging of these is much different than the Revlon Lip Butters, which is slightly disappointing. The Revlon Lip Butters are in sleek silver packaging, which just looks a lot more “expensive”, where as the colorful packaging and plastic of the Baby Lips looks a little bit more reminiscent of lip smackers (anyone else remember those!)

The quality of these are amazing, very moisturizing for your lips. I also love that they have SPF 20 in them. I started going tanning again every once in awhile, and if I don’t wear SPF on my lips, I am one of those lucky ones who will get “blessed” with sun blisters! Although they come in different shades, you can see that the payoff is very light. They still give a flush to your lips, and I do love that. You can wear them with virtually any look because they are very sheer. With a price tag of less than $3, you can afford to get several different shades to experiment with and create a beautiful sheer voluptuous lip!

Have you picked up any of the Maybelline Color Tattoo Cream Shadows or Lip Balms? How about the Revlon Lip Butters? Will you be jumping on the band wagon with these products?
