Do’s and Dont’s for the Wedding Season! – Top Tips For Wedding Guests -Glam Radar

The wedding season is here once again! There are two weddings in my family and I am so excited! It’s time to flaunt my lehengas, sarees, gowns and flower prints ! And finally, I’ll be using all the makeup I’ve been hoarding like crazy. And of course, the dancing, the mehendi, the rituals-so much fun!

But weddings can be really tiring and stressful too. Ever tried dancing in the baraat when your shoes are killing you?? Or did you ever get raccoon eyes, during the Vidai, thanks to your non waterproof eye makeup?
So to avoid such situations, I’ll be sharing some pointers with you. They’ll help you survive the wedding season. And if you have any other points to add, do leave a comment!

Pick comfy but cute wedding guest dress :

COMFORTABLE FOOTWEAR:
I just cannot emphasize this point enough! Those killer heels will kill your feet! Invest in a pair of block or wedge heels. Honestly, your footwear is never even visible under those elaborate lehengas and gowns, so give the first priority to comfort. If you get a pair of super comfy and not so pretty heels, buy them! I got a pair of super high block heels from Forever New and wore them through out my wedding functions. Yes, the same footwear for all the functions. Guess what? No one noticed and I could walk and dance easily. Also, do keep a spare pair in your car, just in case.

MAKEUP: WATERPROOF-enough said!

Now, I know we carry tiny, designer clutches which cannot hold anything but some blotting sheets, q-tips and your lipstick are essentials. Always carry these.

HAIR:
Personally, I feel tied hair is more manageable than hair left loose. You could go for an updo, half tied hair- the options are endless! But most hair styles involve teasing the hair and you must pamper your hair afterwards. Deep condition or go for a hair spa!

Bobby pins, safety pins, tampons, band-aids, a comb, any medicines you may need- all of these are essential! Also, those patches, which help support heavy earrings, I don’t know what they’re called, but they can really help you or someone else!

SKIN CARE:
Now, I know wedding functions can mean late nights, but do not skip on your skin care routine. Take that makeup off when you get home. It doesn’t take too long and you know how important it is. Also drink lots of water and keep your skin hydrated and glowing!

I hope you guys enjoy any upcoming weddings you have to attend. If I’ve missed out on any points or if you wish to add to this list, leave me a comment!
