DIY natural, whipped shaving cream – Glam Radar

It can be tricky looking after facial hair and good shaving products can be hard to find, when it comes to looking after your face though natural really is best. If you saw my post on how to make your own natural beard oil then you’ll know that I’m a fan of using natural ingredients to take care of your hair, especially when it comes to sensitive areas like the face.  So, here’s another tutorial to help you take care of your facial hair (and body hair if that’s your thing.)

This cream features sweet almond oil, shea butter and cocoa butter to moisturise dry sore skin along with rose water and rose geranium to tone out post shaving redness, and lavender oil especially for sensitive skins. This cream isn’t a lathering forumla as it’s designed to moisturise skin, think of it as more of a soothing shaving oil. It’s creamy, lovely, and super easy to make, you should give it a try!

dot-1  1/4 cup sweet almond oil

dot-1  1/4 cup of rose water

dot-1  1/3 cup of shea butter dot-1  1/4 cup of cocoa butter dot-1  10 drops lavender oil dot-1  5 drops rose geranium oil dot-1  Place shea butter and cocoa butter in a heat proof bowl and melt (like chocolate) over a pan of simmering water. Alternatively use a bain-marie if you own one. dot-1  Remove bowl from pan when the butters have melted together. dot-1  Add in rose water, almond oil and essential oils. Stir to mix. dot-1  Once mixture has cooled to room temperature place in fridge until cold dot-1  Remove cold mixture from fridge and whisk using a fork or hand whisk until mixture is whipped and fluffy.

dot-1  Once enough air has gotten into the mixture transfer into a jar and you’re ready to go!
