Covergirl Lip Perfection lipsticks: Review, Swatches – Glam Radar
by Jane · March 14, 2015
Covergirl Lip Perfection lipsticks retail for ~$7 for .12oz (MAC l/s are $14.50 for .1oz, Revlon Lip Butters are $8 for .09oz). They are full pigmentation, creamy, and long lasting. They claim to “improve the condition of your lips” overtime but it’s by any means as hydrating and moisturizing as they make it sound. The colors I have: Delish, Heavenly, Fairytale
THE GOOD: THE BAD:
REVIEW Extremely pigmented Fragrance PIGMENTATION: 5/5 Lasts 4-6 hours Not moisturizing as it claims TEXTURE: 5/5 Glides on smoothly LONGEVITY: 5/5 Not drying
OVERALL: 5/5 Darker ones leave a stain
Bottom Line: If you’re very akin to the MAC Amplified formula or a long wearing, non matte, non drying, pigmented lipstick you’ll love these! These are my favorite lipsticks both from any brand I’ve tried.
Pigmentation – ( 5 / 5 ) I haven’t tried all the lipsticks from this line but judging from the swatches…all of them are highly pigmented.
Shades – ( 4 / 5 ) The line has 44 shades, mostly satin/creme finishes, some frosts. They’re split up into 4 different categories: Pink to roses, Lilacs/mauves/burgundies, nudes/corals/reds, brown.
Texture – ( 5 / 5 ) They glide on sooo smoothly and feels like satin on your lips. It’s not as moisturizing as it is smooth but it’s not drying. It’s extremely comparable to the MAC Amplified finishes.
Longevity – ( 5 / 5 ) The lighter shades last 3-4 hours on average. The darker shades last 5-6 hours. They fade evenly, don’t settle into the lip lines, and leaves a stain on your lips.
Packaging – ( 4 / 5 ) It’s very sleek, twists all the way down, and doesn’t cause any nicks. The color and name are both on the bottom.
Overall – ( 5 / 5 ) These are my absolute favorite lipsticks. They’re very comparable to the MAC Amplified finishes but glide on even smoother. Definitely worth a try but not if you’re sensitive to fragrance and don’t like leaving it fading to a stain.
Repurchase? Yes! It’s a definite favorite 🙂
1) Delish (creme peach)– A more pigmented, bit darker version of MAC Shy Girl. Great natural/nude lipstick.
2) Heavenly (creme warm medium pink)– A gorgeous pink for everyday wear but with a warm coral tone. Perfect for the spring! 3) Fairytale (creme warm hot pink)– A great shade for transitioning from
