Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss Review – Glam Radar

by Amanda · May 15, 2015

Hi, I’m Amanda, and I’m a lipgloss addict.  I’m not even going to say how many glosses I own because it will just embarrass us both.  I really don’t need anymore.  However, when I was in CVS and saw the great deal they had going for Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss ($6.49 plus $4 Extra Care Bucks, making each gloss $2.49), I had to jump at it.

(from left, Crystal Lilac, Hot Pink, Peony, Rosepearl, Strawberry) These glosses are lovely.  They’re beautifully pigmented and feel soft and moisturizing on the lips.  My biggest complaint with many glosses is the stickiness factor and this formula passes with flying colors.  They feel much more expensive than they are, and the packaging is nice. revlon-colorburst-lipgloss-texture-500x375-1 (from left, Crystal Lilac, Hot Pink, Peony, Rosepearl; second row, Strawberry.  On NW20 skin.) They last on the lips for a long time, considering they’re not sticky, yet wiped away cleanly when I wanted to see how they removed.  I drank an Honest Tea while wearing Peony and it was still there when I finished. All of the colors I chose had varying amounts of shimmer.  I love shimmer so this wasn’t a problem for me.  Some of the colors did container less sparkle, like the Crystal Lilac, but I did not see any non-shimmer shades in the display.  Revlon has another line of glosses which contain no shimmer, but I have not tried those. revlon-colorburst-lipgloss-applicator-500x375-1 One thing that I really like about this gloss is the applicator.  It’s indented on either side so it hugs the lips better than the typical doefoot applicator.  It made it much easier to apply the gloss quickly and neatly. revlon-colorburst-lipgloss-review-375x500-1 (from left, Too Faced Glamour Gloss, Urban Decay Pocket Rocket , MAC Lustreglass, Revlon Colorburst, L’Oreal HIP Shine Struck) The size of the gloss is right on par with other brands at 0.20 oz/5.9 ml.  To compare, the MAC Lustreglass is 0.17 oz and the Too Faced is .12 oz.  The HIP and the UD Pocket Rocket are both .27 oz.  When the price of the Revlon (especially on sale!) is compared to the others, it makes this gloss a Very Good Buy. One last thing I’d like to mention:  If buying these at CVS to get the $4 Extra Care Bucks, making the gloss $2.49 each, buy each gloss in a separate transaction.  The ECB deal is limited to one gloss per transaction, but it is absolutely allowed to buy multiple glosses and ring each one up separately
