Soap and Glory Glad Hair Day Shampoo Review – Glam Radar

by Ms. Wedgie · June 12, 2015

Have you ever found yourself with a product that you’re almost certain you’re going to hate?  Even before you crack open the tube or bottle you’ve already formed your opinion and are thinking of ways to get rid of it.  This is how I felt when the ‘Glad Hair Day  Shampoo’ from Soap and Glory found it’s way into my possession.

Like a good blogger I bought the HUGE tote bag that was on offer in Boots. I was a complete Soap and Glory virgin (shocking I know) and was really excited about trying the other products but somewhat ‘meh’ about this one. I really like the smell of the body products but using ‘Wedgie Logic’ I thought that a shampoo that had the same trademark S&G smell would result in something shocking.

Well…I have been proven wrong. ‘Wedgie Logic’ is clearly complete and utter rubbish. I’ve been using it since Christmas and I’ve got to admit that this is one of the best daily shampoos I’ve used in a long time.

The packaging is like all the other women’s products in the S&G range – pink and girly with a picture of saucy kitschy strumpet.  Ooh err missus!! 🙂 So what does it promise to do?  According to all the product blurb it contains raspberry fruit vinegar, glycerin, panthenol and phytantriol to gloss smooth, repair and strengthen.  It’s suitable for all hair types and has a no buildup formula so that you don’t have to switch your shampoo all the time.

Does it deliver on all these promises?  Not quite all of them, but it still does a pretty good job.  I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and unlike a lot of ‘daily’ shampoos it does actually leave my hair feeling soft, strong and clean.  Previous use of some other leading brand’s daily shampoos left my hair looking dull and greasy, but this one performs surprisingly well.  There also doesn’t appear to be any build up at the moment which is another thumbs up!!  I couldn’t honestly say whether it’s doing much repairing and strengthening, but my hair (which is prone to breakage) is looking pretty healthy at the moment so it must be having some kind of positive effect.   I’ve got to admit that I’m not really seeing much glossing going on – my hair isn’t looking dull and tired, but it’s not been transformed into a glossy mane of silky hair.  This isn’t a major problem for me because I tend to use a separate product to add shine and for the price it performs exceptionally well in other areas. Overall I’m giving this shampoo a hearty two thumbs up!  It’s great value for money and performs as well as a lot than more expensive brands on the market.  Soap and Glory Glad Hair Day Shampoo (250ml) is £5.22 and is available online and in store from Boots. Are you a big S&G fan?  If so, then what are the products that are top of your ‘most recommended’ list?
