Just give me a few moments to wake up from my sugar coma after eating these.  I don’t even know where to begin with these amazing, out of control, outrageous cupcakes.  I wish I made more and thank God I was home alone making these because I almost ate them all and my only witness was the dog.  I don’t know what came over me one Saturday but I sat down on the couch with my laptop and put this recipe together.  I knew it would taste amazing and I planned on making it later on in the month but my excitement got the best of me.  Before I knew it I was shopping for all of my ingredients and ended up making these masterpieces.  And I am glad I did because I finally found the answer to world peace, enjoy! tres-leches-cupcakes-with-a-dulce-de-leche-frosting

What You Need To Do
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.  Line the muffin pan with cupcake liners.  Since you will be pouring the milk mixture inside the cupcakes I recommend doubling on the cupcake liners.  In a medium sized bowl mix together the cake flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.  In a larger bowl whisk together the eggs and sugar then add the vanilla extract and milk and keep whisking.  Then slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and keep whisking.  Once everything is mixed well pour about 1/2 full of batter in each cupcake liner.  Then bake for 18 minutes in the oven.  In the meantime mix the condensed milk, evaporated milk, and heavy cream in a large measuring cup.  Once the cupcakes are done baking take them out of the oven and let them cool for about 10 minutes.  Then with a toothpick start to poke holes all around the center of the cupcake.  Then begin to pour the milk mixture into each cupcake and don’t be scared if the milk starts to pour over give it a few seconds to let it soak in.  Then do it again until it has reached the desired consistency that you like.  Now for the frosting!  In a large bowl beat the butter with an electric hand mixer on low until it has crumbled.  Then add the powdered sugar and beat.  After that add the heavy cream and continue beating.  Once you are done you should have a smooth and creamy like texture of frosting.  Now add the the Dulce de Leche and beat until it has mixed well with the frosting.  Place the frosting in a pastry bag with a tip and begin to frost those amazing cupcakes!!  Now the best part is when you add that cherry on top!
