Hi you all! here is my Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation Review! The last couple of weeks have been SUPER busy for me – hence my lack of updates – but I’ve finally managed to find a few minutes to sit down with my wee blog and do some posting. I’ve been doing a lot of overtime at work so am unfortunately a constant sleepy bear. It is really taking it out of me! It’s been fine though – as you know last weekend was PAY DAY WEEKEND which was absolutely fabulous. I didn’t end up buying ANYTHING from my ‘Pay Day Wishlist’ and instead spent far far far too much money on things I happened to just come across whilst shopping. I keep meaning to make a post about all the lovey things I bought but haven’t had time to photograph everything!
Anyway, one of the things I bought this week was Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation. As you can see from my ‘What’s In My Makeup Bag – Every Day Edition’ post I’m a big big fan of Bourjois foundations. In fact, their Healthy Mix Foundation was crowned my foundation holy grail within seconds of me trying it out. I discovered I needed a new foundation but instead of sticking with the Healthy Mix Foundation I decided to try the serum version instead. Foundation Facts:
- RRP £10.99
- Plastic bottle with pump applicator – hygienic and hassle free
- Made from vitamin rich fruit therapy formula
- Light to medium coverage
- Six shades available
- Available from most high street drug stores
The pump applicator makes it hassle free for getting the product out of the bottle. I squeeze one pump of product on the back of my hand and finds that this does my whole face when it comes to this foundation – which I love! The product has a slight fruity fragrance which I find appealing – it’s all too often I’ll buy a new foundation and be immediately turned off by its plastic, clinical scent. Bourjois states that this foundation contains lychee, goji berries and pomegranate which is where I imagine this smell comes from. I love how Bourjois manage to incorporate fruit into their foundations. I think it’s a lovely touch for a product that is centered on being healthy and good for you.
I applied this with a soft, non brand foundation brush starting on my T-zone and working down the nose and then bringing it across my cheekbones and over the rest of my face. As Bourjois states, this foundation does indeed blend seamlessly, and I personally find the color and coverage excellent. It’s comparably lighter than the original Healthy Mix Found 519e ation, or certainly feels that way on my skin, and I barely feel like I am wearing anything on my face at all. I use shade 53 – Beige Clair – which is pretty much a perfect match for my coloring. My skin looks toned, bright and has a lovely dewy glow. I find that I don’t actually even need to use my Benefit High Beam to highlight my cheekbones when I have this on! I apply a bit of translucent powder on my nose and chin just to make sure it stays in these areas as for me, personally, these are the bits of my face that decide to try and reflect ALL the light as the day goes on.
I’ve been wearing this for a couple of days now. Yesterday it was very very very hot here but in that way where it’s just sticky and horrible and there is barely any air. I was in work as well, which made it two times hotter, and was worrying so much about how awful my face would look when I got out. I was so sure that all my foundation would be melted off or I’d look like a total oil slick. When I got out of work and looked in the mirror I was absolutely delighted as the foundation had stayed and I barely looked any different from when I had left the house! Bourjois claims the Healthy Mix Serum foundation has a 16 hour radiance booster which I think in these circumstances I can vouch for – I was only in for six hours but in that time I was running around in the heat and getting all flustered and hot and it stayed perfectly. So, in conclusion:
- Fairly priced
- Great color
- Easy, hygienic applicator
- Long wearing
- Gorgeous, glowy finish.
