Benefit Cha Cha Tint Review

If you’re looking for the perfect summer shade to warm up your face this winter, I think I may have just found it. Benefit have recently launched Cha Cha, a mango-tinted lip and cheek stain.

I picked it up on Saturday while I was having my brows done at their Paddington store and let’s just say… I don’t know how I ever lived without it.

Don’t be scared by the packaging. It looks orange and scary from the first dip, but  it’s actually a golden mango shade that is easily blended down.

Like the highlighters that I’ve reviewed previously, it comes in nail polish-like packaging which means you can control how much to apply.

It’s also important to note that this is a stain, not a traditional blush or even lipstick. It’s there to give a really natural flush to your cheeks and lips so you won’t get a huge amount of colour payoff. And with a shade this unusual, that’s probably a good thing.

Blended down, Benefit Cha Cha Tint settles into a really golden mango and just quietly – it suits my colouring perfectly. I’ll post some face of the day pics soon to show you just how perfeclty it loves my skintone but for now you’ll have to trust me.

Application Tips:

  • I find Cha Cha works well under foundation, as well as over a powdered and un-powdered foundation. It’s really versatile in that way.
  • I generally apply 3-4 dots on the apples of my cheeks and blend it down with a foundation brush but you could use a sponge or your fingers if you’re that way inclined.
  • I do the same on my lips – a few dots, smear it all over and use a lipbalm on top to lock in the moisture so they don’t dry out.

Final Thoughts: It’s worth the money. I bought it on the day it came out (Saturday, apparently!) but I wish they’d invented it sooner. If you’ve got a gorgeous peaches and cream complexion it would look great as well.

I find it lasts a good 10 hours before any signs of fading. I also love that I can apply it under my foundation for a really healthy glow. Quick note though – if you’re going to do this, make sure you overblush because your foundation will take out a lot of the colour.

I don’t actually own any of Benefit’s similar products like Posietint or Benetint but after trying this, I’m so keen to give them a go.

Australia: $55 (from Benefit counters or online at Adorebeauty)

Full Disclosure: I bought this myself at the Benefit flagship store in Paddington, here in Sydney.
