The holidays are coming up and I’m sure many of you already have their calendars swamped with events for the upcoming season. I love going to different parties during this time of the year – be it for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year or any other event. One thing that I used to get stressed out the most about, though, is deciding on what to wear. Thankfully, I have solved my dilemma by starting to plan out outfits for different parties way ahead of time. Often, I find myself resorting to something easy like a dress that I then top off with a jacket or a coat. It’s easy and it makes you look put together in seconds. Here are some flattering dress styles you can wear to holiday parties.
- TURTLENECK SWEATER DRESS – it’s stylish, it’s chic and it’s super easy to pull off plus it looks great on anyone. A turtleneck sweater dress is one of that you can simply slip into if you can’t be bothered to come up with a more detailed, layered outfit yet you still want to look fab and well put together. Just pair it up with some knee high boots or maybe even thigh high ones and you’re good to go.
- AN A-LINE DRESS – the A-line cut / silhouette on skirts and dresses are universally forgiving which is why this style is a great pick if you want something that will help you look your best but you don’t have much time to plan. A-line dresses look good on any body type, no matter what the length. All you have to decide on now is what design and color to wear.
- CAPE DRESS – remember that white cape dress Solange wore for her wedding? Lovely wasn’t it? Surprisingly, cape dresses can make anyone look chic and fabulous. You don’t have to be as curvy as Solange to pull one off. Also, it doesn’t need to be maxi-length for the dress to look elegant and sleek. Even a mini cape dress can look posh when styled right.
- SHEATH DRESS – a sheath dress is a classic office wardrobe staple but did you know that it could very well be your best friend during the holidays, too? Yes, you can dress up your regular sheath dress to make it look more fancy for the office holiday parties but you can also get yourself a printed one that you can wear when you want something more casual but still has that elegant touch.
